Off-grid systems, water catchment and resourcefulness; educational space, living in harmony with the elements; soil health principles applications; scientific compost making; tree care; creative, natural spaces

It’s a 7 year work in progress where we have had the honor to practice Land Management from the macroscale to the microscale.  We look for solutions to issues on-site through projects using observation, identifying the source/s of the issues that need improvement in a prioritized sort of way, and then creating a project to address it.

We have several different types of composting going at all times, like humanure, thermophilic, static and vermicompost. We plant trees, shrubs and native grasses and flowers for building soil, creating structure and inoculating with compost extract. We haul big amounts of mulch to cover the bare spots -previously seeded with native, hardy species.

We have been treating the invasive trees with the girdling technique to avoid chemicals on site which has been free of chemicals since Lina from Reverdecer has been the manager, stating it on contract since her first year. This is Social Permaculture, clear and wholesome contracts among people to generate trust and alliances. We have shared this technique with neighbors of the El Rito town and at the El Rito Forest Service Office.
